"Last week, Christian and Stephanie Nielson, my friend's sister and BIL, were in a very serious plane crash. They are a young couple with four children under the age of six. They're in critical condition. Stephanie has third degree burns covering 80% of her body and Christian has third degree burns over 30% of his body. The recovery will be very very long and very very very expensive." - Sassafras Blog

A life changing event. Tragedy that is all to real for this beautiful family. Sassafras has organized a huge auction to help raise funds for the Nielson family. Details below:

Sassafras has compiled a HUGE lot to auction off at inlovewithlove. This is the stuff dreams are made of.

2 sheets of EVERY paper from EVERY collection we currently carry. ALL of the stickers (1 sheet each of monograms, journal tags, and sweet treats) since we introduced diecut stickers with our collections. ALL of the alphabet stickers (1 sheet each). Diecut monograms and diecut trims (1 sheet each) from ALL of the older collections we currently carry. 16 packages of our most popular rub-ons. 14 clear stamp sets. ALL of our in a stitch buttons and blossoms. and ALL of our new chipboard stickers. (see the full list and bidding details under our auction)

There are numerous auctions posted to help raise funds for the Nielsons. Listings and updates can be located at Design Mom's blog.

If you would like to make a direct contribution, there's been a fund established at Nie's Recovery website.

This family will accrue over a million dollars in medical expenses as both Christian and Stephanie receive treatment for their injuries. It's imperative that they receive support from as many people as possible. It's for this very reason that I'm helping to spread word of their story. Please, if you have a blog, spread word of their story to help with their recovery. I'm all to familiar with the kind of challenges that will present themselves to this family in the coming future and I've made it an effort to bring attention to this event. Consider making a direct donation or bid on one of the many auction items available online. Thank-you everyone!

Also, C Jane, Nie's sister, is posting updates at her blog; Enjoy it CJane. She writes beautifully and from the heart. Take time to visit her blog.

Nie Nie also had a blog of her very own before being seriously injured in the plane crash. It's called the NieNie Dialogues.

butterflies

You may have noticed some minor changes here at my blog. The butterfly in the header is from O'Scraps, one of my favorite online digital scrapbook resources.  The butterfly is a perfect symbol of renewed life, one that follows after great change. I kept the header and content of the blog "neutral", which is something entirely new for me. I'm seeking change, both in perspective and style. I will continue to share plenty of color via personal projects and dialog. I would love to hear what you think of the new design. Please share your feedback via the comments section of this post. Thanks so much!

I'll be posting news shortly of a new endeavor that will happen this November. No, it's not a new product line (though wouldn't that be wonderful?!) or a new online store. It's smaller than both, but still very exciting for me. I'll finally have opportunity to connect with the scrapbook community directly via an avenue that will take me places I've not yet been. A little more later.

If you are interested in being added to an email list for future kit project updates, please contact me via email: retrospection30@gmail.com Those of you that have already shown interest have been added to the list. I'll be sending out an update on the first kit in January (first kit posted end of January with the exception of a limited number of exclusive kits to be made available in December). Kit's will be made available for purchase every three months or so via my blog. The kits will encompass product and instructions for large size projects, mostly mini-albums and some altered items. If you have any questions concerning the kits, please contact me via email with your questions. Please allow me some time to answer each of your emails. I promise to respond to all of them. Thanks so much ahead of time!
