A few of you inquired about the woodgrain pattern paper used to create the background for the layout posted yesterday. For some odd reason, I had it in my head that it was K & Company, but it turns out that the woodgrain pattern paper is from Anna Griffin's "Flora" collection. I spent the last hour or so looking for the paper online and was unable to locate it. It's an older collection from a year or so ago. It's one of my favorite collections from Anna Griffin. Absolutely beautiful.
I thought that this might be the perfect moment to talk about "wood" inspired scrapbook supplies. In both the digital world and traditional scrapbook world, they're are a plethora of woodgrain pattern papers and embellishments to choose from. Around every corner, either while online or perusing one of the local scrapbook stores, you'll more than likely run into nature's most basic material - wood. It's neutral and combines well with every color under the sun, including my favorite color, Turquoise. Over the years, I've built a small collection of wood inspired scrapbook supplies. I use these items to add texture to my layouts/projects and also to help balance out bright, vivid hues, which can often dominate a page if left untamed. Woodgrain inspired scrapbook supplies also come in handy for "outdoor" activity related layouts. Think camping, fishing, gardening, swimming and other activities you enjoy during warm Summer months. Lastly, woodgrain pattern papers pair well with large scale pattern papers; the Amy Butler pattern paper used in my last layout is a perfect example of a large scale pattern.
I've organized a small collection of wood inspired scrapbook products below. My favorite is the "Woodworks III" digital pattern paper collection from Little Dreamer Designs (Designer Leora Sanford) - it's on sale for all of .25 cents! Now, where else can you find pattern paper at that price? Talk about a bargain! I picked it up immediately.
If you know of other woodgrain products out there, post a link in the comment section below...both digital and traditional. Thanks ahead of time!
