So, I've kept you waiting..and waiting...and waiting. Well, guess what? I get to finally share some things with you from Crate Paper. Actually, let me not jump ahead and pull back a bit. I'm sharing layouts using some the latest Crate Paper products. I received "word" to share more, including the new "Brook" collection, but I'm going to hold off on that until tomorrow or Saturday. I know, how could I do that to you guys? Laugh. Before you all start throwing tomatoes at me, let me just say that it doesn't feel right to give it all away in one night. Why not stretch it out a day or two? Also, I think Crate Paper deserves some anticipation. They devoted quite a bit of time in designing their latest three collections for you own and enjoy..so, what's one or two more days of waiting? The first collection to debut this weekend is "Brooke". If you take a peek below, you'll find a layout using this modern, stylish collection. It's my fave collection of all the new Crate Paper releases thus far...it's simply beautiful.
Also, I recently decided it was time to change the way I share my layouts on my blog. I've grown tired of the "perfect square" and wanted to do something a little bit more dynamic in sharing my work. I picked up this not-so-fancy white easel at Target from one of their "Valentine" decor collections. You may have already seen it upon a recent trip to Target. It comes with a 4" x 4" painted canvas (I didn't care for the canvas, but thought it make a great backdrop for another scrappy project, so I set it aside for future use). Turns out, the easel is the perfect size for showcasing layouts. I love it! I think it costs all about "$5 or $6". Super deal! Check it out if you haven't already! I plan to use the easel as a display for photographing my layouts and other scrapbook projects. Let me know what looks better..with or without the easel?
Ok, so Martha Stewart has a plethora of new punches on the market for us crazy Martha Stewart product fans. I just recently picked up a couple of her new seasonal punches, including the lace flower punch I used to create the flowers above. I backed the flowers with floral rub-ons from the new "Brook" collection, which were applied on Vanilla cardstock and then cut-out to use on the layout as shown.
Here's another sneak peek at a collection that Crate Paper will be releasing at show..I won't give up the name just yet, but it's a girly collection and brilliantly "Pink". It was perfect for scrapbooking my delightful niece, "Busy Izzy". :) Always on the go..almost impossible to photograph. Laugh.
Another Martha Stewart punch above - "Traditional Eyelet" Edge Punch
Tiny chipboard pieces make for great layering. Normally, they're easily lost, but when used in combination, they're affect is quite impressive. I further layered them small hand-cut pieces of pattern paper, which serves as nice framing device. The small chipboard pieces are brought forward by the multi-level frame.
I'm much needed at my scrapbook desk right now as I have another layout to begin this evening for Crate Paper. I'll return in a day or so with further update about Crate Paper and another layout. Thank you for stopping by..hope all of you are wonderful week :) Bye, bye.
