So, you're probably wondering where this girl has been lately?! Well, I've been trying something new, but I'm going to keep it hush, hush for a while. Maybe I'll chime in on it a little later on...
So, as you can imagine, I've not spent a whole lot of time in my scrapbook room. After rolling out four layouts for Crate last week, a break was in order. It wasn't until last evening that I finally found my way back into the studio. I hope to entertain the area once again tonight. I began making progress on a new layout (peek above) with the hopes of finishing it in the next day or two. Eventually, at some point this week, it'll find it's way here. Though for now, I'm going to give you a brief overview of Crate's new collections since I've a nice size stash awaiting further use after last week's Crate crafting spree.
Farmhouse is one of those collections you have to see in person to truly grasp it's color possibilities and intricate detailing. It's actually a favorite of mine, especially the cherry paper and dark blue floral paper on display below...
These small stickers, included as a part of Crate's 12" x 12" alpha sets, are always fitting and come in extra handy when wanting to fill a label or seeking a quick addition for the corner of a layout or photo. I consider them a "perk" and have plenty available if and when I need them.
Now the chipboard scale stole my heart instantly! And so did the couch...they're not the typical chipboard shapes one would run into via a "Fall" collection per say, but they are so adorable!! Still trying to figure out what to do with them - they'd be a major hit on a card!
I'll confess, I'm not typically a big proponent of "Christmas" collections, but Crate's newest Christmas collection, "Peppermint", doesn't technically fall into the category of "traditional" and because of this, it's an automatic winner for me! Most of the papers are easily workable through other means and popular themes. The stripes, diamonds, zig-zags and polka-dots are amongst some of my faves...
And then came Kelly Green. There is simply not enough of this particular color paper out there -- I'm keeping it forever!!
Quick Present Tags? How about a whole sheet of them? Imagine what sort of possibilities these might present on a layout?! Cute Stuff.
And lastly, there's Random. I'm betten' this is going to take the cake at the show, which just so happened to start today! For the first time in a long time, I'm not there..and that's entirely ok with me. Laugh. Feels good to be home with Ethan and the rest of my crafty stuff. :)
Here are my faves from this collection...
This pink/white pattern paper matched alongside "Black & White" is a must-try for me - throw in some yellow or dark blue..pretty.
I'll leave you with a brief look at Random's chipboard assortment. Even the "C" seems quite fitting as a part of the collection. And the bird, well, how about adding some glitter to her? Smile.
Hope all of you are enjoying your week thus far! I'll return with a brand new layout for you in the next day or two...all the best - CM.
