Thank-you to everyone for the great dating advice - seems a popular topic, doesn't it? I've decided that at this point, I'm going to deprive the blog of my date life details, but I'm considerably happy with the way things are going so far. My expectations have been far surpassed already...so, in moving along, I thought you might be interested in finding out what I've been up to this last week (creatively speaking).
Violet & Olive Green remain to this day some of my favorite hues. I've a kitchen, living room and dining room to prove it, too. So, when Ethan's cucumber seedling expedition grabbed my attention recently, there was no doubt in my mind that I'd finally found the perfect reason to create with the complimentary pair.
Do you recall the days of KI Memories "rubber softies" - I think I must of collected nearly every single one of them. I've a couple of drawers filled with the bright, texturized miniature pieces. I regularly go out my way to use them since I have so many on hand. With this latest project, I implemented one within the center of a deep seated floral display. The flowers are from K & Company's "Poppy Seed" collection (readily available at JoAnn Fabrics).
Don't be afraid to take your title off the ground. Vary the level at which each letter sits - bring one forward, move one back and so forth. Even fragile alpha sets can handle standing on their own if enough adhesion is established. That being said, it's never a bad idea to adhere titles into position since the sticky backing of most alpha sets tends to wear off over time.
Sticky strips of tape coated in glitter seemed a decent enough idea at the beginning of the construction process, but after the application of embellishments, the strips immediately disappeared. Too bad, they'd been a nice feature!
A cute Cosmo Cricket watering bucket gave way immediately to Fiskar's epoxy water droplets - sold in this exact shape, the droplets look just like water! Convenience at it's best...
I'm keeping this short as I've a major deadline to hit in the next day or two in terms of design work. Hope all of you are having a great weekend thus far! See you Monday!
