I've been a long time fan of Elle's Studio Designs. For years, Elle's labels and journaling jots sought out my attention. Not only are they trendy as all get out, but they're utterly one-of-a-kind, so when used on a layout, they tend to stand out and shout "Look at us, aren't we cute?" Because of their individual, design savvy qualities, I've managed to collect more than my fair share of Elle's products. I keep them in drawers, inside the packaging, though occasionally, I'll split them apart, sort them by color, and tuck them into small color-coordinated containers. Also, I'm the proud owner of a number of Elle's Studio Stamps. Sold individually, you can't go wrong having a few around. I actually have a small bowl for storing small, individual stamps. It's much easier to keep track of them that way. Can't even begin to tell you the number of times I've lost sight of a stamp because I wasn't paying attention. Laugh. It just takes a single movement of a sheet of paper, and suddenly, vitals go missing. Been there too many times. Anyway, last month, Elle inquired as to my availability to guest design. I quickly replied, "Yes, I would love to!" So, I whipped together a layout for her over a period of four days and the final outcome is below. I welcome you to take a look, and tell me what you think! The dark wood-grain paper is from October Afternoon - isn't it Delicious?! I bought two sheets of the stuff. Oh-my, oh-my. Just heavenly. I should of bought the whole darn pile!
Note the snippets to the left. "Hello Summer" was the item I chose to go with for this layout. There are a few other smaller tags, just look closely and you'll see them. The journal spot hosts a super cute rub-on, Favorite, created by Elizabeth Kertchner and American Crafts. Wish my handwriting had a whimsical flair to it and was open and air-driven. I'd write on everything!
I wrote a lengthy description to coincide with this layout at the Elle's Studio website. I'm going to save on space and send you over there to catch the details. I'm also going to share with you only a few close-ups since Elle's to post the layout and all the close-ups next week. For the time being, enjoy what's available, and then, follow up at the Elle's Studio blog next week for even more beautiful images to peek upon!
I'll also bring the rest of the images here as soon as the guest blog post at Elle's is Live. I wanted to simply jump on board and share a glimpse of it. Plus, I have more to share, but I'm going to hold-off until tomorrow, or the following day.
I would like to inform you that it's been a full week for me. I attempted an online condensed, four week course, and couldn't make it work. We also ran into a torrential storm earlier this week that turned our neighborhood into tv news - trees were ripped from the ground, houses damaged, and things thrown about every where. We lost a tree in the backyard, but many of our neighbors lost so much more. It was devastating...overall, it was a tough week..not exactly the ideal environment for documenting a happy moment. I'll still have one of those ready for you though on Monday :) Been plenty of happy moments prior to this week!
I wish you a wonderful weekend! Time for me to retire...
