Last week, a dear friend of mine invited me to her wedding over the weekend. She asked if I'd be willing to grab a couple of photos while there and surely enough, I did. They're still undergoing processing via Photoshop. I'll share a few a little later on. Before departing to the event, I stopped off that local trendy boutique, Patinas, and purchased the couple a gift and card. About four hours prior to the wedding, I decided to go all out and wrap the gift in such a way as to reflect my usual scrapbook style. You could say I got a tad bit carried away, but it'd been such a delight to put together. There are true benefits to having crafty stuff laying around - nearly all of it comes in handy when gift wrapping!
One of my favorite gift-y wrappers is Tara Anderson. She puts the greatest amount of care and love into the gifts she shares with people. Even before having met her, I was an admirer of her skillful eye for color and texture combinations. Her gift wrapping takes both to a whole another place! And the secret behind it is that she doesn't own a lot of scrapbook supplies. Tara's specialty is to create from vintage, second-hand wares. The next time you look at her work, research what she's using and you'll quickly find out that her passion is of a completely different category of crafting. At heart, she's an artist of many layers - and her work speaks for itself!
Tara is my inspiration for the elaborate gift wrap job that is soon to be shared with my newly married friend. Wouldn't you know it, Chris forgot the gift in her car the day "of". Laugh. I'm terribly forgetful. Ask anyone, and they'll agree. Sometimes, I think I'm turning into to the always-forgetful fish, Dory, from the movie, "Finding Nemo". I'm that helpless. I'm the girl that always asks, "Anyone know where my keys are?", or "Hey, where did I park my car?" Laugh. Yep, that's me.
